Frigate
A network video recorder for IP cameras with local, real-time object detection: it records your cameras, detects people, cars and other objects, and works with Home Assistant. On its first start Frigate creates a basic configuration and prints the password of the generated admin user in its log: sign in with it, change it under Settings > Users, then add cameras under Settings > Camera management. The web interface uses HTTPS with a self-signed certificate, so the browser warns on the first visit. Continuous recording writes to the recordings folder all the time and keeps its disk spinning, so give it a share on one dedicated disk, so the others can spin down. The RTSP restream has no login unless go2rtc is configured otherwise. A Coral TPU and an NVIDIA GPU are not set up.
